Dr. Christie Samuel

“If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together.” Guided by this African proverb, Dr. Christie Mims-Samuel leads with collaboration, trust, and purpose. A proud Dallas native and Carter High School graduate, she learned early to embrace courage, difference, and resilience—values that continue to shape her leadership. She operates with the firm conviction that physical limitations never dictate an individual’s ability to push forward and achieve high goals, and she uses her platform to serve as an empowering role model for the next generation.


Dr. Samuel began her career as a general and bilingual teacher in Dallas ISD and went on to lead multiple campuses, championing Two‑Way Dual Language programs and advocating for equitable access for all students. Known for her compassion and grit, she models the belief that limitations never define potential.


Her commitment to growth has earned her recognition as a Master Principal, a Cahn Fellow Distinguished Principal, and a member of Principals in Collaboration. She considers her greatest strength the ability to lead with vulnerability while maintaining professional integrity.


She holds degrees from the University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership, along with a Principal Certification from the University of Texas. She is currently advancing her leadership through the Texas A&M Superintendency Program.


Rooted in a legacy of military service as the daughter and mother of U.S. Army veterans, she is a proud mother of three and grandmother of two. Dr. Mims‑Samuel leads with heart, purpose, and the simple reminder she offers to everyone she meets: “Keep pushing.”
